Seaforth House overlooks the village of Maryburgh. It is a small home offering respite care for people with a variety of disabilities, and special needs. We offer respite care for the carer and the cared for, day care, weekends, holidays or longer. Also emergency care if necessary.

As a care home there is a fully trained nurses on duty at all times. The staff have a wide experience in meeting the needs of people with learning difficulties, epilepsy, speech and sensory impairments.

The staff are also experienced in physical and emotional problems associated with Multiple Sclerosis, Huntington’s Chorea, head injuries, cerebral palsy and other conditions. There are ongoing training programs for the staff, both in house and with outside bodies to ensure our training is current.

There is a large activity room, which is comfortable and homely, with TV, video music centre, pool table and magnetic dartboard. There is also a small sitting room to be quiet and relax in.

The large patio area and garden has activities for all levels of ability. There is a modern kitchen and dining room, and the high standard of cooking is based on individual needs and preferences.

There is no set time to getting up and going to bed. Main meals can also be arranged to fit in with all other activities.

We have our own transport and can offer a wide choice of outings and places to visit. We can use the hydrotherapy pool and Fairburn House facilities, such as the light and music therapy room.

At Seaforth House the staff organise a range of games, crafts and projects, which we hope, with the residents encouragement, helps to emphasise abilities. Overall, the organised activities are stimulating, interesting and fun.

Seaforth House is a quiet peaceful safe and attractive environment. There is a chance to make new friends and there is always someone to talk to.
